June happenings

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I can't believe how fast this month has gone! We have been so busy this month the time just flew! I'll update in the form of pictures. Here we go!

One perk of Cameron working at Milliman is the the Mariner tickets! Every once in a while he'll snag some tickets for us to go. This was our 3rd time going as a family. We had AWESOME seats this time. We were right next to first base. We were even on T.V! The Mariners haven't been doing so hot this season, but we must be their good luck char because they won! We ate nachos and sang "Take me out to the ball game." We felt very American.

On June 8, we went to Ensign Ranch for our Stake service project. Ensign Ranch is owned by the church here. It's a fun place to visit. While Cameron was helping remove the tree branches, Addie and I went for a walk. We ended up on the edge of the baseball field just playing in the grass.  It was a fun morning. We left at 6am so that we could be there by 8am when it started. We were wrong, it didn't start until about 10am. After the service we drove to Ellensburg to visit our other Gleed cousins.  It was so fun spending time with them. Elizabeth was even home for the summer from BYU.

A few weeks, later we were excited the Johnsons come stay with us! They had been on vacation in Oregon and came up to see Seattle before going home.  After they got here we went to the American Girl store in Lynnwood.  Cameron met us there at the mall after he was done with work and we went out to dinner at the Claim Jumper.  By far the best part about that was they brought out a plate for Ollie and Addie to eat that had turkey, cheese, Mandarin orange`s, and applesauce.  Yum! Not only that, but it was FREE! Best restaurant ever!!!
The next day we made homemade bow and arrows. I did that once with them and I guess they liked it. Ya, I am the coolest aunt ever! Later that morning after we got all packed up, we walked around the temple before catching the bus to downtown Seattle. While in Seattle, we went to the gum wall, Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, and West Lake Center. We had so much fun and walked a lot! My favorite part of that trip was
1. Evan sticking his gum to a string of gum at the gum wall. GROSS!!
2. The crazy half naked man that Georgia and I saw talking to himself and doing a Nacho Libre move.
3. Eliza singing Book of Mormon Stories at the top of her lungs on the bus home.

That night we went to Newcastle Beach for a BBQ dinner. We love that park because it has a lot of grass area, a playground, and a sandy beach.  We had fun playing and eating hot dogs and hamburgers. Eliza even made a new friend. We were sad to see them go on Saturday morning, but sure had fun while they were here.

That Saturday morning Cameron was gone with his 11 year old scouts. When he got back he surprised Addie and I with a ferry ride to Southworth. We'd never been there and so it was quite the adventure. We just parked our car in West Seattle, walked onto the ferry, walked to the beach and waited for the ferry to come back. It was relaxing and fun being together as a family.

Our next exciting thing was our trip to Utah! Our sweet little Jessica was being sealed to Jamie and Theron. We are so lucky Cameron had a few vacation days so he could join us. We flew out Friday June 21st at 7am.  We didn't want to pay for parking at the airport so I figured out a way that we could drive to the Renton Park and Ride and catch the 560 bus that goes straight to the airport.  Even though it was very early, everything that morning was going according to planned until we got out to find our bus bay. With about 7 min before our bus was scheduled to come we discovered that where we were there were only 2 bus bays and our bus wasn't coming to either of those bays. We asked a lady if there were any more that we perhaps couldn't see and she told us that we needed to go to the transit center which was 10 min down the road.  Knowing we didn't have 10 minutes we jumped back in the car with the intent just to drive to the airport.  While waiting at the stop light, Cameron and his eagle eyes spotted a bus stop where our 560 was going to stop. We hurried and parked in some random grocery store parking lot and ran to the stop where the bus came less than a minute after we got there.  We got on the bus and hoped like heck our car would be there when we got back.  The flight was good. Addie was great and fell asleep right before we took off.  When we got to Utah, we rented a car from Hertz and took off for Sandy where we were planning on getting the ultrasound to find out the gender of our next baby.

We to to the Fetal studio at about 11:45 only to find out they weren't doing that walk-ins that week since the guy that usually does the ultrasounds was on vacation.  The next available appointment was at 3:45. We had nothing to do for all those hours so we just walked around the mall, got lunch, went to the Jordan River Temple, the Oquirrh Mountain temple, Walmart, and back to the mall to walk around some more. I got my ring cleaned, Addie played on the play place, we through pennies into the fountain, and just walked around. Finally, it was time to go get the ultrasound. This time around I was convinced from day one that it was a boy. I just thought my second kid would be a boy and since this pregnancy is a little different from the last I was convinced that it is because it was going to be a boy.  It's always fun to see the ultrasounds to see how much the baby has grown.  The baby was kind of uncooperative in seeing the gender. Its legs were crossed and the umbilical cord was in between it's legs. After coughing and rolling over, we found out that it's a..... you'll find out later in the post.

Mom and Dad, Darci and Joel got a motel room in Bountiful so that we could all be together that night. It was perfect timing to tell everyone what we are having. At the motel they were staying at, the swimming pool had no water in it so we had to go to a different motel to swim.  I had already told Darci what we were having because she and Georgia made this adorable box with balloons so that we could have a creative way to share our secret.  Well, from the pictures and all the pink balloons we are having another GIRL!!!!! Yay! Like I said, Cameron and I were shocked since we both thought it was a boy but we are just as excited that Addie will have a little sister to be best friends with!

The next day was the sealing of Jessie.  We met at the temple at 9:30 am. Grandma and Grandpa Gleed were kind enough to come to Bountiful and watch Addie for us while we in the sealing. It was a beautiful sealing and Jessie did awesome.  We sure are lucky to have her as part of our family! After the sealing we went to Jamie's house for taco salad and to visit.  It was a sunny day and we had so much fun being with family.  At their house, they have a swing and Addie LOVES swings! If it weren't so sunny I would have left her there all day because she loved it. One of the best parts of that day was feeding Oliver a lemon. He was so funny! We gave one to Addie and she actually didn't mind at all! She must be taking after Great Grandpa Gleed since he loves eating lemons.

After lunch we went to Jeff Clifford's house. Jeff was Cameron's favorite mission companion. We sure like him, he's funny.  We just visited for an hour or so then went back to Layton for a family dinner with all the Gleed cousins.  It was so fun seeing them since it's been about 7 or 8 months since we'd seen them last.
Sunday morning was interesting.  I was getting ready with Addie sitting by me and when I turned around, Addie was sitting there in a pile of barf.  It was gross! I cleaned her up and we went to church.  During Sacrament meeting she puked 2 more times so we just went home.  That afternoon she'd just puke and nap. Poor girl! This was the first time she'd ever puked in her life.  I don't like seeing her sick but I LOVED how snuggly she was. She never holds still more than 10 seconds so this snuggly Addie was quite the change. Sunday night, we went to West Jordan to see Petrine, then down to Lehi to have dinner with Marni, Evan, Brandon and Heather, and Kayla and Alex.  It was so good seeing them too.  The only bummer was that we found out later that Addie got Marnie, Evan, and Kayla and Alex sick too. Oops!

Monday morning was a relaxed day since Addie was still feeling yucky.  We were going to go to Logan to see Gram but since Addie was sick, we thought we'd keep the sick with us.  Addie had a fun time playing on the slide with Great Grandpa Gleed.  He's so good with her. She loves him.  That morning before we left Grandma Gleed ha a dentist appointment.  When she was leaving, she accidentally backed into our rental car. That was kind of a bummer, but accidents happen.

We got back to Washington Monday night and our car was still there! What a blessing! We unpacked and went to bed because we were tired and had another fun day planned for Tuesday.
Cameron and I got a gift certificate to the Salish Lodge and Spa.  We invited Jamie and Amelia to come stay with Addie while Cameron and I went for our little overnight adventure. We are so lucky they can fly like they can so that we can have an overnight once in a while. This was actually the first time that I'd been away from Addie overnight.  The lodge was so fancy.  The staff was kind and we loved exploring around it.  Our room was gorgeous! The lodge sits right on Snoqualmie Falls which was stunning. We walked around the falls, went to the gift shop and got some chocolates then went out to dinner at an Gianfranco's which is an Italian place in Snoqualmie.  We had a great talk but when we got back our tummies didn't feel so great.  We both puked and carried on with our night.  We had reservations for both of us to get a foot revitalization massage in the spa.  It was very relaxing.  Oh, and what a small world we live in.  My masseuse was from Logan, Utah. After the spa we just lay around because we both still felt yucky. The next morning we went to breakfast but got our food to go because we still were not interested in eating.  We got our food and went home.
Addie was still sick and barfing and pooping all the time we were gone.  Good thing I have a patient good-hearted sister and niece that would take care of her.  Thanks James and Amelia!!!
That brings us to today.  Addie and I are here just lounging about since she is still sick.  I feel OK, but she's not her crazy self so we're just taking it easy.  We've loved being with family and having fun adventures. Can't wait to see what adventures July brings!
